Who We Are

The Learning First Alliance is a partnership of leading education organizations representing more than 10 million members dedicated to improving student learning in America's public schools. We share examples of success, encourage collaboration at every level, and work toward the continual and long-term improvement of public education based on solid research.

We believe:

  • Strong and effective public education is essential to America's future and economic success.
  • The more we work and learn from each other and others involved in education, the better we serve students.
  • Members of LFA organizations are employing innovative and successful solutions to education challenges in schools across the country.
State Alliances

In 2000 LFA launched an initiative to form state-level alliances similar to the national effort.  Partnerships between LFA and state-level alliances seek to provide new models of how associations and organizations within a state can work together to boost student achievement. LFA currently supports a pilot network of nine state-level Alliances:
